Read the <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,jwg9,9wsm,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>Sktchpdt</A> -- a bare-bones SketchUpdate that gets right to the point. This summer, we co-sponsored the <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,evwe,d3bk,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>Design Your Dwelling Competition</A> with <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,zk8,525q,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>Dwell magazine</A>. The challenge was to design an intelligent, sustainable and beautiful house for a "dream site" in San Francisco -- in SketchUp, of course. The reaction to our call for submissions blew us away. The <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,1mb8,5ghx,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>winning project</A> came from Drew Wilgus, an architectural intern at a firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. The <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,8qst,ha37,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>runners-up</A> were also impressive, and frankly, so were almost all of the other <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,ljpr,m2ms,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>130 entries</A>. <TD> File --> 3D Print Creating a 3D printing file from a Google SketchUp file has never been easy. Today a new class of <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,jw1w,jckw,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>3D printing technology</A> has slashed the time and expense it takes to create a physical model. Our friends at <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,m4e9,evom,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>CADspan</A> just released a <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,f79y,2j43,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>plugin</A> that allows for the generation of solid, 3D printable files directly from a Google SketchUp model. This software re-creates a model by "shrink-wrapping" it with one continuous mesh. They create concept art for movies, advertising and game studios, and their work is super-inspiring. <TD>Construction visualization at DPR Our friends at <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,gt0b,m4v6,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>DPR Construction</A> are using 3D visualization in Google SketchUp to enhance communication through the many phases of their construction projects. They are able to identify errors and inconsistencies that can derail progress. From presenting site logistics to resolving construction details in RFI proposals, DPR uses SketchUp to design and review in 3D. Houseal Lavigne Associates, a Chicago-based planning firm has broken down the walls between residents, business owners, elected and appointed officials to create a truly communal design experience. <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,i4o,gm9i,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>Houseal Lavigne Associates</A> uses 3D technology to help visualize new developments and create proposals to present to the community. <TD>Making an element appear on every page in LayOut As you know, <A href="http://www.elabs5.com/c.html?rtr=on&s=ljhc,3i6f,s7,dkyr,m1np,8mnc,ewu9" target=_blank rel=nofollow>LayOut</A> is a great application for creating presentation documents from your SketchUp models. Using LayOut is relatively simple, but there are a few things about it that aren't obvious. One of these relates to creating elements (such as project titles and logos) that need to appear in the same spot on more than one page. Doing so requires that you understand something called shared layers in LayOut. IES是个用于建筑耗能计算的插件，对从事建筑设计的人非常有用。重要的是直接从SketchUp呼叫插件进行计算，有兴趣的朋友可以去下载安装使用。

那个IES VE插件只能调用一个简单的能耗计算模块，参数输入的选项太少，只能得到一个经过换算的耗电量数据和二氧化碳排放量，可靠性较差。真正的IES全套有很多计算模块，是一个全面的建筑物理性能分析软件，可惜卖得很贵，国内只有华东院等几个大院用得起。
